Mayweather appears on ESPN’s First Take

Floyd Mayweather talks Conor McGregor, Manny Pacquiao and more.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

Floyd Mayweather made an appearance on ESPN’s First Take this morning and took part in a lengthy interview where he discussed a number of topics. Check out some highlights of the interview below with the full video above.

On if he’s going to fight again:

“As of right now, absolutely not. I’m very, very, very comfortable.”

On if he would change his mind for a nine figure payday:

“Well you know I can get that anyway. You know that.”

On if Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor’s call outs ever entice him to come back to fighting:

“We tried to make the Conor McGregor fight. They knew what my number is. My number was a guaranteed $100M, that way my number, we’re the A-side, and I don’t really know how much money he has made before, I’m pretty sure he hasn’t even made $10M in an MMA bout, but we are willing to give him $15M and then we can talk about splitting the back-end percentage on PPV. But, of course, we’re the A-side.

“I mean how can a guy talk about $20-$30M if he’s never even made $8-$9M?

“I’m saying right here on this show, Conor McGregor keep telling everyone he wants the fight. Let’s make it happen...Dana White, The UFC, Let’s make it happen. Bring him over to the boxing world and I’ll show him what it’s like. Easy.”

On what he would do to McGregor inside a boxing ring:

“What’s understood ain’t gotta be talked about.”

On if Soulja Boy vs Chris Brown is really going to happen:

“My thing is this, hip-hop artists, R&B artists talking about physically hurting each other in the streets. My thing is put down the guns and put on the can be a charity bout and the money can go towards something positive...

“So, is the fight gonna happen? We’re working on it. It’s a lot of work...”

On if he’s really looking to host the fight in Abu Dhabi:

“No, Los Angeles or Las Vegas. Either or.”

On if he would fight a fully healthy Pacquiao or Gennady Golovkin for another $100M payday:

“Was GGG the same guy that was struggling with a welterweight? [Laughs].

“With Pacquiao, was this the same guy that when it was over he was raising [both hands over his head]? I just want to make sure.

“The only thing that I’m probably interested in is probably the Conor McGregor fight.”
