The Golden Boy boss is back in the news, and it’s a setback for him.

Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya was reportedly arrested for DUI on Tuesday in Pasadena, California, according to a report at TMZ.

In all candor, the news is unlikely to surprise anyone who has seen recent TMZ videos of De La Hoya. That said, it’s a troubling setback for a man who has had extensive and admitted problems with drug and alcohol in the past, and has been to rehab to try and treat those issues.

De La Hoya, who turns 44 on February 4, recently told a TMZ camera that he’s “single,” indicating a split with his wife.

Since his retirement from boxing in early 2009 after a 2008 loss to Manny Pacquiao, De La Hoya has focused entirely on his job as a promoter. His company split with former CEO Richard Schaefer in 2014, and has struggled somewhat since then, but recently announced a new TV deal with ESPN.
