WBSS: Groves-Cox Weigh-In and Face Off

George Groves and Jamie Cox hit the scales ahead of tomorrow’s quarterfinals match.

Today WBA super middleweight champion George Groves and Jamie Cox tipped the scales ahead of tomorrow’s World Boxing Super Series quarterfinals fight. Cox (24-0, 13 KOs) was up on the scale first and officially weighed-in at 167.8lbs. Groves (26-3, 19 KOs) would then follow suit and tipped the scale at an official 167.1lbs.

Both fighters looked trim and ready to go for tomorrow’s battle, with the winner slated to take on Chris Eubank Jr., who already won his quarterfinals match against Avni Yildirim. Most people expect that person to be Groves, though, as Cox is unproven at this level and hasn’t fought anyone of note.

Groves is coming off a stoppage win over Fedor Chudinov this past May while Cox is riding a points win over Giorgi Kandelaki in July. Watch the video above to catch the full weigh-in and final face off before the two go head-to-head tomorrow.
