Following the first loss of his career to Josh Taylor over the summer, Ohara Davies (16-1, 13 KOs) is back in the win column after overwhelming Tom Farrell (13-1, 3 KOs) en route to a 6th round TKO at Liverpool’s Echo Arena this past weekend.

Davies would drop Farrell a total of five times through six rounds before the fight was finally ended, and with the win Davies captured the vacant 140lb WBA international title. But despite winning the fight in dominant fashion, Davies says he still has work to do:

"It was redemption, I'm not happy with my performance, there is still a lot to improve on and I'm looking forward to continuing my journey.

"There was a lot of negativity after my last fight, I had a lot of issues before that defeat, since then I've knuckled down, listened to my coach and I'm glad to be back to winning ways.”

Davies has previously stated that he needed to earn a rematch with Taylor if that’s ever to come to pass, and this is certainly a step in the right direction.
