Out of the ring since January with lingering damage, James DeGale will make the fourth defense of his IBF title on December 9th, taking on Caleb Truax as part of a championship doubleheader with Lee Selby vs. Eduardo Ramirez.

The card will also feature Anthony Yarde vs. Nikola Sjekloca, plus Daniel Dubois against Dorian Darch in the day’s most alliterative showdown.

DeGale (23-1-1, 14 KO) against Truax (28-3-2, 18 KO) is straight-up garbage. I actually went back and read it twice just in case it actually said Caleb Plant, which could be decent. Truax isn’t in any of the sanctioning bodies’ top 15s at any weight class and lasted all of 109 seconds against Anthony Dirrell last year.

All I can say is that DeGale better fight one of the WBSS semifinalists in the future.

Selby (25-1, 9 KO) vs. Ramirez (20-0-3, 7 KO) is a bit better. Ramirez is only ranked #13 by the IBF, but did arguably deserve the win against Leduan Barthelemy earlier this year.
