It’s been nearly three full years since former heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne lost his world title to Deontay Wilder, but he’ll have his chance at vindication this Saturday on Showtime Championship Boxing.
Stiverne has always maintained that the fighter that lost his belt to Wilder back in 2015 wasn’t the real him (as he suffered from dehydration during the bout) and is emphatic in stating that he’s going to right that wrong in this outing. Stiverne is 39-years-old though, and hasn’t fought in basically two full calendar years — so it’s hard to know for sure what he’ll bring to the table in this outing.
Be that as it may, Stiverne will give it the good ol’ college try, as they say, and gives a quick preview of his training here during his open media workout. During the workout we see Stiverne shawdowbox, work the mitts, and then work on his defense with this fist-on-a-pole contraption I’ve been spotting all over the place lately.
