PBC on FS1 results: Devon Alexander wins in comeback bout

Devon Alexander got back on his feet with a win in Florida.

Premier Boxing Champions

Former two-division world titleholder Devon Alexander returns to the ring after a two-year absence tonight on FS1, defeating Walter Castillo by unanimous decision in a Premier Boxing Champions welterweight main event.

Alexander (27-4, 14 KO) dropped Castillo (26-5-1, 19 KO) in the second round with a straight left hand, and dominated the fight. Scores were 96-93, 100-89, and 100-89 for the 30-year-old St. Louis native, who had lost three of four coming into the bout.

Alexander is certainly still young enough to get back into the mix at 147 pounds, where PBC has plenty of name fighters, including Keith Thurman, Errol Spence Jr, Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Lamont Peterson, and Andre Berto. We’ll have to see how he does going forward, but this was a good comeback fight for him, and he showed there’s still something left in the tank.

On the undercard, welterweight prospect Miguel Cruz remained undefeated, improving to 17-0 (11 KO) with a decision win over David Grayton on scores of 96-93 across the board. Grayton (15-2-1, 11 KO) was down in the sixth round.
