Joesph Parker vs. Lucas Browne in the works for March

Joseph Parker has become something of a third wheel, as Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder only have eyes for each other at the moment. As a result, he’s turned his attention in a domestic direction and reportedly made an offer to former WBA champion Lucas Browne for a March showdown.

Browne says he’s signed on and is waiting for Parker to do the same.

“Big Daddy” (25-0, 22 KO) is 1-0 in the ring and 0-2 in the lab since his comeback knockout of Ruslan Chagaev in March of ‘16, testing positive for clenbuterol after that victory and for ostarine before a planned vacant title fight with Shannon Briggs. He claims he’s innocent of the first one and that the latter was due to a supplement he didn’t properly vet, which I can kind of believe because I cannot imagine a competent heavyweight getting the chance to fight Shannon goddamn Briggs for a world title and deciding he needs to dope to win.

Parker (24-0, 18 KO) is flawed enough and Browne hits hard enough to make it at least mildly intriguing. Not sure how #2 Christian Hammer, who fights Alexander Povetkin in December, will feel about the unranked Browne jumping the line, though.
