Erik Skoglund, the World Boxing Super Series competitor who fell to Callum Smith in the opening round, has suffered a brain bleed in training. He is currently in a medically induced coma after having surgery and is reportedly “serious yet stable.”

Skoglund (26-1, 12 KO) was set to fight Rocky Fielding on the Tony Bellew-David Haye II card next week, which was rescheduled after Haye revealed he wasn’t sufficiently healed. He had previously lost a 9-3 decision to Smith in September, going down in the eleventh round.

He’s just 26 years old.

We’ll do our best to keep you updated on his condition and, as always, will keep Skoglund and his family in our thoughts.
