WBO welterweight titlist officially made weight today in Brisbane, ahead of tomorrow’s title defense against Gary Corcoran, but it didn’t come without its struggles. The titleholder reportedly had to make a late 24-hour push where he dropped roughly 8.8lbs to make the 147lb weight limit today, and he ultimately came in just shy of that limit.

We’ll find out soon enough if that takes a toll on Horn’s performance, but he’s certainly got a weight off his shoulders (no pun intended) as members of his team were said to be concerned about hitting the mark.

"I was very relieved, it is always good to get in nice and close to that weight and not go over it," Horn said.

"It can be stressful because 100 grams you can't get away with, you have to come back with your underpants off or something.”

Horn’s fight against Corcoran will be his first title defense since taking the title away from Manny Pacquiao in July. Should he win he’s already been linked to fight against Terence Crawford who will be moving up to welterweight after unifying all 140lb titles.
