Linares shows off fancy moves as he opens training camp

Jorge Linares demostrates some of his fluid footwork as he prepares to defend his title against Mercito Gesta next month.

As WBA lightweight titleholder Jorge Linares gets ready to defend his strap against Mercito Gesta on Jan. 27, Linares gives our friends at Fight Hub TV some early access to his training camp.

In the video clip above, you can watch the skilled technician demonstrate some of the smooth footwork he incorporates into his boxing style as he shadowboxes around the ring.

Linares will be making the third defense of his WBA title after most recently taking a split decision against Luke Campbell in September. Linares' boxing skill and style would appear to be too much for someone like Gesta to deal with, but Linares still has a bit of a reputation for being sort of fragile — even if he hasn't been busted up recently.

With a win in this fight, a big lightweight showdown against WBC champion Mikey Garcia still looms as the fight to make in the division.
