Kell Brook’s return has its first co-feature. Super bantamweight brothers-to-the-stars Gamal Yafai and Gavin McDonnell have signed on to join “Special K” in Sheffield on March 3.

Yafai (13-0, 6 KO) is five years younger and far less tested; he was last seen fighting 2-3-2 Ricky Starkey earlier this month, though he has beaten some decent domestic competition in Josh Wale and Bobby Jenkinson. McDonnell (18-1-2, 5 KO) came up short against Rey Vargas this year but has beaten Wale, Vusi Malinga, and Oleksandr Yegorov among others.

So yeah, solid fight. It’ll certainly tell us where Yafai is in his development; we probably know about where McDonnell will top out, but “Beast” still has plenty of time to grow.
