James DeGale will be ending a near year-long layoff this weekend when he defends his IBF super middleweight title against Caleb Traux, but he’s already looking towards bigger and better things, as reported by RingTV:

“David Benavidez next year is the plan,” DeGale (23-1-1, 14 knockouts), an Olympic gold medalist, said on the BoxNation Podcast. “I spoke to Al Haymon and asked if he could make that fight. He said ‘James, that is the plan.’ As soon as I’ve dealt with Truax the first stop in 2018 is Benavidez.”

With most other top super middleweights competing in the World Boxing Super Series at the moment, a big title unification bout could be lined up for the fall of 2018, where fights against Chris Eubank Jr., George Groves, or Callum Smith would all be pretty big deals.

But who would you most like to see DeGale face for super middleweight supremacy? Which would be the biggest fight of them all?
