HBO to give Golovkin-Jacobs ‘24/7’ treatment

HBO’s acclaimed “24/7” series will be back to preview the Golovkin-Jacobs fight.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs are meeting in a highly anticipated HBO pay-per-view main event on March 18, but two weeks before that, their matchup will get the “24/7” treatment from HBO Sports, marking the return of a series that has covered some of the biggest fights in boxing for the last 10 years.

A 30-minute special on the fight will air on March 4 at 10:30 pm ET on HBO, going inside the camps and lives of Golovkin (36-0, 33 KO) and Jacobs (32-1, 29 KO) as they get ready for the big night. It’s easily the biggest fight of Jacobs’ career to date, and though you could perhaps argue another fight, is probably the biggest of Golovkin’s, too, and easily his toughest test in a long time, on paper.

Liev Schreiber, as always, will narrate the show, which will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand.
