Just over a month after his 48th birthday, Roy Jones Jr. re-entered the win column last night with a TKO of bare-knuckle veteran Bobby Gunn in Delaware. Jones reportedly dominated from bell to bell, ultimately rattling Gunn with a combination late in the seventh that prompted the latter’s corner and the referee to pull him out seconds into the eighth.
Our own Rusty Griswold was less than impressed.

As an interesting aside, this fight was for the "World Boxing Foundation World cruiserweight title," which was last contested in 2013 between 15-0 Marino Goles and 5-7 Peter Hegyes.
Jones (65-9, 47 KO) has now won two three straight since getting knocked out by Enzo Maccarinelli in 2015. Gunn (21-7-1, 18 KO), meanwhile has lost his last four actual boxing bouts, suffering one-sided losses to Tomasz Adamek, James Toney, Glen Johnson, and now Jones since 2009.
In the sole notable undercard action, Kanat Islam and Frank De Alba defeated the hideously overmatched Robson Assis and German Meraz, respectively.
