It wasn’t the prettiest fight, but it was a win for undefeated prospect Marcus Browne (19-0, 14 KO) tonight on Showtime, as he dropped Thomas Williams Jr (20-3, 14 KO) three times en route to a sixth round knockout victory.
The first knockdown of the fight came in round two, when Browne landed a jab and knocked Williams off balance. Williams’ glove touched the canvas, and then he went down to a knee. Adding some controversy, Browne came in very late with a shot to the side of Williams’ head, for which he lost a point after the referee eventually got control of the situation.
The second knockdown came in the fourth:

Williams kept trying to gut through things, but he was dropped for a third time in the sixth round. You’ll note Williams interacting with his corner, who were telling him to stay down:
