Lamont Peterson is, as we speak right now, fighting David Avanesyan for Avanesyan’s WBA “world” welterweight title. It’s a solid matchup, on Showtime, we’ve got Wil Esco scoring the fight with round-by-round updates, and so far has been a decent fight.
All that said, the Twitter world was most concerned with Lamont Peterson’s short shorts, at least in the first round or two. At least for a minute. At least before we adjusted to these throwback trunks. Here are some highlight comments from the social media platform, from those in and out of boxing:

I see Lamont Peterson bringing short boxing trunks back into fashion. He looks like he's ready for a Muay Thai fight

Classic basketball was a familiar comparison point for some:

On the bright side, Lamont’s legs were complimented by others:
I want legs like Lamont Peterson. #boxing #AvanesyanPeterson

Well he has some nice legs. If you gonna go “we wear short shorts” have nice legs. #boxing

And others had, like you probably have by now, heard enough quickly and wanted to focus on the fight at hand:
What the hell is the world coming to in 2017 when more people are commenting on Lamont Peterson's shorts then the fight #ToughCrowd #boxing

That’s it for now, back for more hard-hitting boxing world coverage and important journalism very soon!
