Tonight at 8 pm ET on FS1, Premier Boxing Champions returns with a welterweight main event, a fight pivotal for the careers of combatants Sammy Vasquez and Luis Collazo.
Vasquez (21-1, 15 KO) and Collazo (36-7, 19 KO) are both coming off of losses. Vasquez dropped his last fight by decision to Felix Diaz, a fight that threw him out of immediate contention for a title shot, while Collazo came up short against Keith Thurman in his last outing, which came way back in July 2015.
This is really must-win for both if they hope to stay in the mix at 147 as anything other than professional opponents.
The undercard features two more welterweight fights, both set for 10 rounds, as is the main event. Cuba’s Yordenis Ugas (17-3, 8 KO) has bounced back from three losses in seven fights to defeat Jamal James and Bryant Perrella in his last two outings, taking the "0" from a pair of prospects. Tonight, he’ll face tough battler Levan Ghvamichava (17-2-1, 13 KO).
In a matchup of unbeaten prospects, Chicago’s Eddie Ramirez (15-0, 10 KO) will face Houston’s Ryan Karl (13-0, 9 KO).
