One of boxing’s most simple pleasures is a good brawl, and when it’s a couple of big ol’ heavyweights slugging it out, all the better.
We got that tonight in Birmingham, Alabama, as Dominic Breazeale (18-1, 16 KO) and Izu Ugonoh (17-1, 14 KO) set the tone for the evening in their television broadcast opener, going to war over five rounds, before the exhaustion and punishment was just too much for Ugonoh to overcome any longer.
It was a battle of heart and determination, plus some big bombs that put both men on the canvas. Eventually, Breazeale was just too much for Ugonoh. Needless to say, the next two fights on the card have a tough act to follow tonight on FOX.

Ugonoh came back, though, with a fourth round knockdown of Breazeale:
