Top Rank promoter Bob Arum tells RingTV that Terence Crawford’s next opponent for May 20 is down to junior welterweights Felix Diaz and Adrian Granados. The WBC’s No. 1 rated Amir Imam was also said to be in consideration for the fight but Arum says that Imam’s promoter Don King has been unreachable.
“I think we pretty well came to terms with Crawford and we’re looking to close an opponent but it will be a good opponent,” Arum told RING. “Amir Imam is promoted by King and nobody can get a hold of him. It’s a problem. So it’s really now between two of them, Granados and Felix Diaz.”
Granados is most recently coming off a close but clear loss to Adrien Broner last month while Diaz most recently scored a stoppage win over Levis Morales last December. Arum hasn’t been too high on Diaz’s performances though, recently referring to him as a “stinker” and saying he’s usually in boring fights.
Who would you like to see Crawford in with next?
