Luke Campbell is staying busy.

Just two months after battering Jairo Lopez into submission, the Olympic gold medalist will return to the ring on April 29th, taking on Colombia’s Darleys Perez on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko. The fight will serve as an eliminator for the WBA title currently held by Jorge Linares.

Campbell (16-1, 13 KO) has won four straight since his surprise loss to Yvan Mendy, beating the likes of Argenis Mendez and Derry Matthews. Perez (33-2-2, 21 KO), meanwhile, deserved the win over Maurice Hooker in November but was forced to settle for a split draw.

Campbell vs. Perez is a solid fight. Campbell vs. Linares is an awesome fight, so I’ll be pulling for the Yorkshireman here.

This is the third confirmed fight on the card after the main event and Scott Quigg vs. Viorel Simion. Katie Taylor, Joe Cordina, Lawrence Okolie, and Josh Kelly still need dance partners.
