Andre Berto and Shawn Porter are set for tomorrow night’s Showtime Championship Boxing main event, as the two welterweights came in fine on the scales today for the WBC eliminator.
Berto (31-4, 24 KO) came in just under the limit at 146½ pounds, with Porter (26-2-1, 16 KO) at the division’s limit of 147 pounds. The referee will be Mark Nelson, with judges Don Ackerman (New York), Pasquale Procopio (Canada), and Robin Taylor (New York) assigned to the fight.
The WBC junior middleweight title will also be on the line, and both combatants came in under the 154-pound limit. Defending titleholder Jermell Charlo (28-0, 13 KO) weighed in at 153½ pounds, with challenger Charles Hatley (26-1-1, 18 KO) at 153¼.
Referee Harvey Dock will be the third man in the ring, and judging the fight will be Larry Hazzard Jr (New Jersey), Frank Lombardi (Connecticut), and Eric Marlinski (New York).
On Showtime Extreme, Amanda Serrano (31-1-1, 23 KO) will fight for the vacant WBO bantamweight title, but the title will not be on the line for Dahiana Santana (35-8, 14 KO), who didn’t come close to making weight. Santana weighed in at 122¼, over four pounds over the 118-pound limit.
Also in action on SHO Extreme will be Jose Miguel Borrego (11-0, 10 KO) and John Delperdang (12-0, 4 KO) in an eight-round fight.
BLH will have live round-by-round coverage tomorrow night. Fights start on SHO Extreme at 7:30 pm ET, and continue on SHO at 9:30 pm ET.
