BBBofC lays out plans for champions

Three champions currently have defenses planned

There’s something to be said for the British titles; they seem to run a much tighter ship than the big boys.

The British Boxing Board of Control sat down recently to figure out their titleholders’ next moves. Heavyweight champion Sam Sexton has been ordered to face Gary Cornish, while Rocky Fielding must defend his super middleweight belt against undefeated Jamie Cox.

Perhaps the most significant note on the world level is that prospect Ohara Davies, who has been jawing with fellow unbeaten Josh Taylor, may be in line to face Joe Hughes for an eventual crack at super lightweight champ Tyrone Nurse.

Martin J. Ward, Jazza Dickens, and Ryan Walsh are already set for defenses in the near future. Josh Wale will face Jamie Wilson for the vacant bantamweight belt on July 1st.

Nothing world-shaking in the lineup, but I’m sure some of these fights could spice up an undercard or two this summer or fall.
