Today, starting at 1pm ET, Showtime will kick off the first of several live streaming events for the Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence Jr. fight week. Today we begin with open media workouts, where we’ll get a glimpse at the current condition of both fighters just a few days out from the big fight at Bramall Lane.
IBF welterweight titlist Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) will be making his first return to action since moving up to middleweight to challenge Gennady Golovkin last September. Brook couldn’t bear the thought of simply giving up the welterweight world title that he worked so hard to get, so he decided to go through a grueling diet and training regimen to whittle himself back down to 147lbs.
Errol Spence Jr. (21-0, 18 KOs) was not long ago a highly-touted prospect who quickly made his way to contender status. In fact, he’s already considered one of the very best fighters in the division. Spence had to wait awhile before he finally got his shot at a world title, and he says he’s not going to let the opportunity pass him by.
The big fight goes down early Saturday evening, with the Showtime broadcast beginning at 5:15pm ET.
