Bivol (10-0, 8 KO) ended his two-fight knockout drought in February by thrashing Robert Berridge in four, then disposed of Samuel Clarkson in similar fashion two months later. Agnew (29-2, 15 KO) is 3-1 since a knockout loss to Kovalev, losing only to the aforementioned Clarkson by split decision in an eight-rounder.
It’s nice to see Bivol so busy, but this seems like another step sideways. As the interim champ, he’s the WBA number one contender and ought to be facing regular champion Nathan Cleverly in the immediate future.
In addition to the main event, the card will also feature the return of Guillermo Rigondeaux against Moises Flores and a middleweight showdown between Luis Arias and Arif Magomedov.
