Tonight at 9:00 pm ET on HBO pay-per-view from Las Vegas, Nevada, Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev meet in a rematch of their razor-thin first bout from 2016, with Ward defending the light heavyweight championship of the world and the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles.
Ward (31-0, 15 KO) won a disputed unanimous decision last November, handing Kovalev (30-1-1, 26 KO) his first professional loss. The rivalry between the two has become very real, with a lot of bad blood on both sides. There was a time Ward was contemplating leaving the sport on top, but here we are with this fight happening a second time.
The undercard will feature super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KO) defending against Moises Flores (25-0, 17 KO), plus two more bouts. Light heavyweight prospect Dmitry Bivol (10-0, 8 KO) will take on Cedric Agnew (29-2, 15 KO), and middleweights Luis Arias (17-0, 8 KO) and Arif Magomedov (18-1, 11 KO) will also square off.
Patrick L. Stumberg will be on the round-by-round call tonight. Join us!
