Showtime’s got some faith in Ivan Baranchyk, it seems. The Russian slugger will make his fifth appearance, second as a headliner, on ShoBox on July 14th when he takes on fellow unbeaten Keenan Smith. The fight will helm a Miami, Oklahoma quadrupleheader that features just four cumulative losses among the fighters.
Baranchyk (15-0, 10 KO) slugged it out with Abel Ramos in February, surviving a knockdown to take his third consecutive decision victory. Prior to this streak, he had knocked out eight straight, including three undefeated fighters. Smith (11-0, 5 KO), a two-time ShoBox veteran himself, has won two tuneups since missing all of 2016 with an injury.
The broadcast will also feature Kenneth Sims Jr. (12-0, 4 KO) against Rolando Chinea (14-1-1, 6 KO) in another junior welterweight bout, Glenn Dezurn (9-0, 6 KO) against recent headliner Adam Lopez (16-1-1, 8 KO) at bantamweight, and Joshua Greer Jr. (13-1-1, 5 KO) against Leroy Davila (5-1, 3 KO) at junior featherweight. Antoine Douglas (21-1-1, 15 KO) will lead the untelevised undercard against Bruno Sandoval (19-2-1, 15 KO).
