Beristain picks Golovkin to KO Canelo

Nacho Beristain believes Canelo Alvarez could have serious problems adapting to Gennady Golovkin’s style.

In this video interview caught by FightHub, legendary trainer Nacho Beristain gives his thoughts on the big upcoming fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. Check out what he had to say on the fight...

Beristain on his assessment of the fight:

“They only thing I can say is if Canelo fights like his did against [Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.], I think Golovkin wins...because [Canelo] leaves a little to be desired. He’s a great offensive fighter but he’s lacking defensively.

“Golovkin is a fighter who fights in the Russian style and it looks like an easy [style to beat] but it’s not easy. And I’ll give you two examples: the one who beat Chavez Sr. and Miguel Angel Gonzalez very easily [Kostya Tszyu]. They never understood the way they fight. And if they can’t figure out how to fight [Golovkin] I think he can probably knock [Canelo] out.

“Golovkin isn’t too strong but he hits very hard. He’s lively.”
