The highly anticipated rematch between former pound-for-pound king Roman Gonzalez and Thai bruiser Srisaket Sor Rungvisai doesn’t have an official home quite yet, but it does have a date: September 9th on HBO. Naoya Inoue will make his American debut in the co-feature. The Ring also states that Carlos Cuadras vs. Juan Francisco Estrada may join the HBO broadcast for a phenomenal tripleheader.

Gonzalez (46-1, 38 KO) suffered the first knockdown of his career in the opening round of their March battle and struggled to hurt the larger Sor Rungvisai (43-4-1, 39 KO), but sheer volume and aggression kept him in the fight and appeared to win it for him. Nevertheless, one judge scored it even and the other two had it 114-112, seven rounds to five, for Sor Rungvisai. None of the scores were indefensible, but you’ll likely find little public opposition to a rematch

Considering how close and entertaining their fight was, the rematch was basically guaranteed to happen. Here’s hoping they actually do get that tripleheader working, because that would be awesome.
