Tonight at 10:30 pm ET on Showtime, ShoBox: The New Generation returns with a tripleheader of action from Verona, New York, headlined by a nice matchup of unbeaten 140-pound prospects Regis Prograis and Joel Diaz Jr.
Prograis (19-0, 16 KO) and Diaz (23-0, 19 KO) have shown power and skill thus far in their careers, and a win tonight will be a big step toward serious contention in the junior welterweight division. Prograis, 28, and Diaz, 25, are both legitimate prospects who have shown real potential so far, making this the type of fight that ShoBox was built to showcase. The fight is set for 10 rounds.
There will be two other fights on the show, both set for eight rounds. In middleweight action, Steve Rolls (15-0, 9 KO) will face Demond Nicholson (17-1-1, 16 KO). And in a lightweight bout, Sergio Martinez protégé Jon Fernandez (12-0, 10 KO) will take on Juan Reyes (14-3-3, 2 KO).
