McGregor explains decision to bring in Malignaggi as sparring partner

Conor McGregor says he wants Paulie Malignaggi as a sparring partner to make him answer for all his trash talk.

When Conor McGregor was asked by the media about what prompted him to extend an offer to Paulie Malignaggi to work as his sparring partner, his reply had little to do with getting any tips or pointers from the veteran boxer. Instead McGregor says he really just wants a chance to put hands on Malignaggi.

“Yeah, look, Paulie talked a lot of shit. He was talkin’...Look he’s been brought in to spar and then he’ll answer to what he’s been saying and then we’ll go from there after that. But we’re gonna have a knock in the gym.

“I mean, look, we’re gonna have a knock and he’s gonna have to answer to what he’s been saying. Then, maybe, we’ll see after that.”

This kind of show of bravado is probably nothing new to McGregor fans, but it interesting to note that Malignaggi hasn’t been targeted for any of his boxing knowledge in prepartion for Floyd Mayweather. He’s being targeted for revenge.
