In this video interview caught by FightHub, Chris Eubank Sr. is asked for his thoughts on his son’s fight this weekend on ITV. Check out what he had to say...
Eubank Sr. on how he views Arthur Abraham as an opponent:
“Well he is robust. He is fierce, he is real. He is battle-hardened and if Junior is not on his game there’s gonna be trouble. But I’ve watched Junior over the last 10 years and, you know, talk is cheap. ITV box office, Abraham against Eubank, I think that will say all and he will show what he can do.”
On what challenges he expects Abraham to bring:
“I can’t see what he can do against Junior. I just can’t see it. What he’s gonna do, he’s gonna try to hurt Junior, which is what you’re supposed to do in boxing, and I don’t think he’s gonna be able to. And when he does, if he does, Junior has, I believe, a chin of which he’s been non nonchalant about proving for the last, I don’t know, I think he’s tried to prove it three or four times in his career where he’ll take a shot and say ‘What!’
“So it’s gonna be interesting to see if does land, what he can do. But will he land? I can’t see it ‘cause Junior, he’s that good.”
On why his son isn’t fighting James DeGale in this outing:
“[DeGale] has a heart injury. And so, apparently, there’s no getting him. Also his mummy is actually the manager, so there’s no way of getting him. He’s like ‘I don’t care what you call me! You can call me a girl in pink.’ He said ‘I’m not fighting Junior.’ That’s him. And so we’re not worried about him.
“In the [WBSS] you have the best in the world actually competing in this tournament and there’s gonna be one winner. And Junior says he’s going to dominate it so let’s see what happens.”
