Barrera on if he feels better about his loss to Andre Ward considering what Ward has gone on to do in the division:
“Yeah, when I fight Andre Ward I have only 17 fight but right now I have 20. Every fight you learning something. The last two fights, great fighters, Shabranskyy, Parker, you know, I’m learning.”
On how important is was for him to score that big win over Shabranskyy:
“That’s very important to me because this fight putting me in the top light heavyweight...Almost ready now, ready for title shot.”
On reuniting with his father (a Cuban national) after 8 years and him being in attendance tomorrow night:
“Yeah, I feel great. I feel God bless to me with that because this years is a long time. You know, I miss him a lot, I’m so excited I go to put a great show this Saturday.”
