Lee Selby retained his IBF featherweight title with a wide and dull decision victory over mandatory challenger Jonathan Barros of Argentina, headlining the Eubank-Abraham undercard in London.

Selby (25-1, 9 KO) wasn’t really tested in the fight, winning on scores of 117-110, 117-110, and 119-108. Barros (41-5-1, 22 KO) suffered his first defeat since a 2012 loss to Mikey Garcia, which capped a run where he lost three of four. That he got back to this point at all says a lot.

Selby has publicly stated he wants bigger fights from here on, and specifically would like a date with Carl Frampton, who returns on July 29 against Andres Gutierrez in Belfast.

In a competitive if not always compelling fight, Martin J. Ward retained the British super featherweight title and won the vacant Commonwealth strap with an unanimous decision win over Anthony Cacace, on scores of 115-114, 116-113, and 116-114.

Ward improves to 18-0-2 (8 KO), while Cacace falls to 15-1 (7 KO), suffering his first pro defeat.

Poland’s Michal Syrowatka took the “0” from Robbie Davies Jr, dramatically rallying late in the fight after being floored in the ninth, stopping Davies early in the 12th and final round. Syrowatka (19-1, 7 KO) stayed in the fight despite Davies (15-1, 11 KO) controlling much of the first two thirds of the bout, and he took advantage of Davies choosing to fight in closer quarters to land big shots.

Official scores were 106-102, 106-102, and 106-103, all for Davies at the time of stoppage. This is definitely a fight worth a look if you missed it — it wasn’t exactly absorbing early on, but the late rally was tremendous, and there were some really good rounds in here.

Off TV, Kid Galahad (23-0, 14 KO) stayed unbeaten with a 10th round stoppage of Jose Cayetano (21-6, 10 KO) in a featherweight bout for a minor IBF title.
