This is a, uh, slow week for the sport of boxing, to say the very least. It’s a rare off week in the middle of a pretty busy summer — abnormally busy, in some ways, as the schedule is full through August, even, which is usually a month boxing goes quiet. Instead, we just have this one pretty dead week. All in all, not the worst thing, and there are a couple televised fights out there this weekend. Here’s the list.
Friday, July 21
TyC Sports (ARG), 10:00 pm ET, Dayana Cordero vs Julieta Andrea Cardozo.
Telemundo, 11:35 pm ET, Antonio Moran vs Wilberth Lopez. Your standard Telemundo action.
Saturday, July 22
Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm ET, Jhonny Gonzalez vs Jessie Cris Rosales. Olympians Lindolfo Delgado and Misael Rodriguez are also in action, both in their second pro fight. Gonzalez is still functionally a contender at 130. Rosales is undefeated against weak opposition.
