With Chris Eubank Jr.’s rout of Arthur Abraham, the World Boxing Super Series’ lineup is officially complete and the oddsmakers aren’t wasting time. Lines are already out for both the super middleweight and cruiserweight tournaments, with Callum Smith and Oleksandr Usyk tabbed as the likeliest winners.
You can find all the available lines in the links above; since I can’t figure out how to copy/paste them in a decent format, here’s just PaddyPower’s offering:
Callum Smith 13/8
George Groves 9/4
Chris Eubank Jr 3/1
Avni Yildirim 16/1
Jamie Cox 16/1
Juergen Braehmer 20/1
Rob Brant 25/1
Erik Skoglund 33/1
NOTE: Brant and Skoglund trade the bottom spots on different sites
—
Oleksandr Usyk 8/11
Murat Gassiev 7/2
Mairis Briedis 5/1
Yunier Dorticos 10/1
Dmitry Kudryashov 16/1
Mike Perez 20/1
Krzysztof Wlodarczyk 50/1
Marco Huck 66/1
NOTE: Betway has Wlodarczyk a larger underdog than Huck
Honestly, these are pretty interesting. Groves is easily the most proven of the super middleweights, but the bookies seem confident in Smith’s eye test. The cruiserweight numbers are a little stranger; Wlodarczyk and Huck may be on the downswing, but they’re legit former champions, while Perez has all of one cruiserweight fight against a nobody.
Any of these stand out to you guys?
