With Keith Thurman projected to be sidelines for quite awhile with a serious elbow injury, the WBC’s number one contender Shawn Porter is looking at the next man on the WBC’s list — Danny Garcia.
Porter took to Instagram last night to call out Garcia, WWE-style.
“I just heard that the WBC would like ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter to fight another title eliminator. And they want me to fight none other than the cherry picker himself - Danny Garcia. Well I say to you, Danny Garcia, let’s get it on! Ooohhh Yeahhh!”
Garcia would reply to the posted video by writing to Shawn:
“[laughing emojis] I’m laughing at you, not with you. Send the contract Bozo [clown emoji].”
Garcia has been out of action since losing his WBC welterweight title to Keith Thurman in March. Porter, meanwhile, last won a WBC eliminator match when he knocked out Andre Berto in April. He too lost to Thurman in his previous outing.
