Conor McGregor has been very vocal about wanting to hire Paulie Malignaggi as a sparring partner — although not for his boxing knowledge, but rather to settle a personal grudge for all the trash talk between the two in recent months.
And it looks like it finally came to fruition as McGregor took to Instagram this morning to post a photo of him sparring Maliginaggi as if he were Roy Jones Jr.
Now with no video footage having surfaced just yet, you can’t really draw any conclusions as to how the sparring session went other than to say it featured some typical McGregor bravado.
I’m sure Malignaggi, who himself is outspoken as they come, would like to dish on some of the details of their sparring session, but thus far he’s been noticeably silent. That would appear to feed into rumors that he’s had to sign some form of non-disclosure agreement in order to set up the sparring session. But, for now, all we know is that the two have finally had the chance to put hands on one another.
