I’m not sure exactly how nasty the build-up to Mayweather-McGregor is going to get, but Conor certainly has no problem getting as personal as possible. In one of Conor’s latest antics he was spotted wearing a Warriors jersey, something Draymond Green (who currently wears the number for the team) took exception to on Instagram.
But Conor shot back at Green by letting him know that it wasn’t actually his jersey that he was wearing, but rather C.J. Watson’s former jersey (who played for the team between ‘08 and ‘10). Now if that name doesn’t immediately mean anything to you, allow me to explain...
C.J. Watson is the NBA player who was said to be having an intimate relationship with Josie Harris, the mother of three of Floyd’s children, a few years back. In fact it was the revelation of this relationship between Watson and Harris that precipitated an assault on Harris by Mayweather — you know — the reason he did that stint in jail back in 2012.
So in the comments section of Draymond Green’s post, McGregor responded:
“That’s C.J Watson mate. I don’t know who the f**k you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school.
“Now ask yourself why I’m rocking C.j when I don’t know or give a f**k about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid.”
Despite being hit with a plethora of charges in that domestic incident, Mayweather eventually plead guilty to lesser charges and served two months in jail. And it looks like McGregor is all too happy to at least attempt to get under Mayweather’s skin in the lead up to their August 26th fight.
