Hughie Fury: Back To The Old School

Fury releases a new promotional video ahead of his title fight with Joseph Parker next month.

Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury, with the help of his promoter, has just unveiled a new promotional video of his ‘old school’ training regiment as he gets ready to challenge Joseph Parker for his WBO title on September 23.

The training video is unmistakably Rocky-esque as he’s featured chopping wood, dragging tires, and of course pummeling frozen slabs of meat. But he also shawboxes on a paddle board, which I don’t remember from the Rocky films, so he might’ve just stolen that part from Wladimir Klitschko. All that’s missing is Shannon Briggs in the background, stalking him.

Fury and Parker will meet at the Manchester Arena in what will be Fury’s first shot at a world title. This fight had originally been scheduled for this past May, but was postponed after Fury pulled out with a lower back injury. Parker would go on to make a voluntary defense in the interim against Razvan Cojanu, a fight he won handily on all three of the judge’s scorecards.
