Hey Harold! Cotto vs. Kamegai

Harold Lederman gives his take on Miguel Cotto vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai.

HBO’s resident scorer and commentator Harold Lederman breaks down this Saturday’s other fight, which has now apparently been sanctioned as a vacant title fight.

“August 26, Miguel Cotto vs. Yoshihiro Kamegai. You know, Miguel Cotto is always one of the big stars on HBO for years and years and years. He’s the only Puerto Rican fighter ever to win a world title in four different weight divisions.

“You gotta watch for Miguel Cotto’s great left hook. I always loved his left hook. He’s already announced that he doesn’t want to fight longer than 2017. You know, he wants to retire as a world champion and he wants to beat somebody who’s halfway decent. On August the 26th he’s fight for the vacant WBC junior middleweight championship against a Japanese fighter Yoshihiro Kamegai. [Editors Note: It’s actually for the vacant WBO title].

“Kamegai’s tough. Don’t get me wrong, he can punch. Look for an exciting fight on August the 26th and that’s for sure.”
