It’s almost here. Today, starting at 4pm ET (although it probably won’t start on time) Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor host the final press conference for their big event this Saturday.
After all the talk, all the build up, all the antics, it’s nearly fight time. But knowing how much both Mayweather and McGregor like to stir the pot, you can probably expect some serious theatrics for the final promotional push for their fight.
Mayweather is obviously, and rightfully, a serious favorite in this bout, but McGregor doesn’t seem to care much about the media and fan perception. He’s completely confident that he’s going to shock the world and become the biggest star combat sports has ever seen (and he certainly will if he can do the impossible).
That said, if McGregor is seriously hoping to win this fight with a Hail Mary left hand he better walk into the ring with a couple dozen rosary beads. Mayweather has taken on at least a half-dozen Hall of Fame boxers who could barely scrape the man, and McGregor has absolutely no professional boxing experience.
Godspeed.
