Cotto vs Kamegai: Fighters make weight for HBO bill

All four fighters are ready for tomorrow night’s world title doubleheader.

HBO

Miguel Cotto and Yoshihiro Kamegai are set for tomorrow night’s HBO main event, with both fighters making weight for the WBO junior middleweight title fight.

Cotto (40-5, 33 KO) weighed in at 153.6 pounds, with Kamegai (27-3-2, 24 KO) at 153.8. The limit, of course, is 154 pounds.

The WBO title is currently vacant, most recently held by Canelo Alvarez, who defeated Liam Smith for the belt last September in Texas, and never defended.

In the co-feature, Rey Vargas and Ronny Rios made weight for their WBC super bantamweight title fight. Vargas (29-0, 22 KO) weighed in at 121.6 pounds, with challenger Rios (28-1, 13 KO) coming in at the limit of 122 pounds.

For more on this card, check out our preview from earlier this week. BLH will have live coverage of the Cotto-Kamegai doubleheader tomorrow night, beginning at 9:45 pm ET, so if you’re not tuning in or even interested in Mayweather-McGregor, we’ve still got you covered on Saturday.
