During the post-fight press conference for Mayweather-McGregor, Floyd Mayweather fielded some questions about the fight and what was up with that little push he gave McGregor after one of the rounds.
Mayweather on what he makes of McGregor’s fouls during the fight:
“I let the referee do his job. I’m not here to bash the referee. But you guys know what’s going on: a lot of rabbit punching, a lot! You know, things happens, but you live and you learn. Um, you know, the referee is a helluva referee, Conor McGregor’s a helluva fighter, I’m not here to bash anyone. I just went out there to do my job tonight.”
On why he pushed McGregor after the final bell in the 5th round:
“You know, give the fans what they want to see. I pushed him and told him, ‘You still ain’t knocked me out yet! I thought you said it wasn’t going past four! Show me your real power.’ That’s all. It’s just trash talking that fighters do, whether it’s MMA or boxing, you know, we talk trash. That’s what we do.”
