On the heels of Gennady Golovkin’s live media workout, HBO will also be live streaming Canelo Alvarez’s live media workout, beginning at 5pm ET. Those who hope to get a little preview to Canelo’s physique for his first official middleweight fight can tune-in to catch the stream right here on BLH.
Canelo, 27, has slowly and diligently prepared for this showdown with Golovkin for the past couple of years, and has most recently fought Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at a 164lb catchweight to get acclimated to fighting a larger opponent than he’s used to.
Surely Chavez Jr. doesn’t have anywhere near the craft or power of a Gennady Golovkin, but Canelo’s going to need to take all the lessons he’s learned up to this point to take out a dominant champion like Golovkin. From a purely physical standpoint, Golovkin poses the biggest threat in Canelo’s entire career, even if Golovkin is starting to get up there in years.
The two men will face off in the ring on September 16th, live on HBO PPV from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
