In this video interview with FightHub, Michael Conlan is asked about his supposed beef with Shakur Stevenson. Check out what he had to say...
“There is no beef. Listen, it’s smart for both of us to fight each other, down the line. It was the fight that never happened in the Olympic Games. There is definitely unfinished business because before the games had even started there was talk of us fighting each other, we were the two best in the weight they were saying — even though none of us won the gold.
“But they were saying it was us two, that people wanted to see us two fight each other in the amateurs and it didn’t happen because of controversy. Now there’s a great possibility [that it can happen in the pros] so I’m excited about it. He wants it, I want it, it’s a future fight, it’s a fight that both of us are gonna make a lot of money. We can build it like a little Manny Pacquiao-Mayweather stuff. You know, that’s my dream...you need a dance partner and I’ve already got one and my pro career hasn’t even started. He’s already got one, his pro career hasn’t started. So for both of us it’s unfinished business, yeah.
“But there’s no ill feelings, there’s no beef, it’s just business for me. I don’t care who he is, I don’t care where he’s from, I just want to make money and I want to beat people, and that’s what I’ll do.”
