Irish star Katie Taylor will look to land a belt in just her seventh professional fight next month when she takes on WBA female lightweight champion Anahi Esther Sanchez on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev.
Taylor (6-0, 4 KO), an amateur sensation who served as flagbearer for Ireland at the 2012 Olympics before winning gold, has already fought four times this year alone. This will be her second scheduled ten-rounder, though she’s never gone past eight.
Sanchez (17-2, 9 KO) moved up to lightweight after a TKO loss to reigning IBF champ Maiva Hamadouche at 130. She stopped fellow Argentinean Cecilia Sofia Mena for the vacant WBA belt just two days ago.
Other fights on the October 28th Cardiff card include Kal Yafai vs. Sho Ishida for Yafai’s super flyweight title, plus Lenroy Thomas vs. Dave Allen and Frank Buglioni vs. Callum Johnson.
