Wilder vs Ortiz: Live streaming press conference to announce fight

Today at 12:30 pm ET, Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz will meet up in New York to officially announce their November 4 WBC heavyweight title fight, which will air on Showtime.

Wilder (38-0, 37 KO) won the WBC belt in January 2015, defeating Bermane Stiverne by decision. Stiverne is actually the mandatory challenger for the title right now, but agreed to step aside and allow this fight to take place. Stiverne will face Dominic Breazeale on the undercard.

Since winning the belt, Wilder, 31, has made successful defenses against Eric Molina, Johann Duhaupas, Artur Szpilka, Chris Arreola, and Gerald Washington. This is, on paper, by far his most dangerous defense to date.

Ortiz (27-0, 23 KO) is getting his first world title shot. The 38-year-old Cuban southpaw fought three times in 2016, beating Tony Thompson, Malik Scott, and David Allen. He hasn’t fought in 2017.

The fight will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
