Okay, I think we should start investigating whether Felix Verdejo angered a cabal of extremely petty warlocks at some point.

The Puerto Rican Olympian has withdrawn from his planned September 22nd fight against Antonio Lozado Jr. with an unnamed injury. Lozado Jr., in turn, had replaced the injured Terry Flanagan.

Verdejo (23-0, 15 KO) has fought just once since June of 2016, picking up a decision over Oliver Flores in February. Once among the hottest prospects in the sport, stagnant competition, uninspired performances, and injury troubles have ground his rise to a halt. The Flanagan fight was a step in the right direction, but things have clearly gone south.

The card itself, which features Oscar Valdez and Gilberto Ramirez defending their WBO titles, is still on.
