Friday, September 8
SHO, 10:05 pm ET, David Benavidez vs Ronald Gavril, J’Leon Love vs Abraham Han, Caleb Plant vs Alan Campa. The vacant WBC 168-pound title is on the line in this main event, a SPECIAL! presentation of Showtime boxing on a Friday night, which isn’t explicitly a ShoBox show. J’Leon Love is trying to emerge from what basically amounts to career rehab, and Caleb Plant is a prospect of some note. BLH will have live coverage.
Saturday, September 9
ITV4 (UK) / Super Channel (CAN), 6:00 pm ET, Oleksandr Usyk vs Marco Huck. The World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament kicks off in Berlin, with Usyk defending his WBO title against longtime titleholder and contender Huck, who appears to have hit his wall. There’s no U.S. TV for the tournament, at least as of now. Hopefully they’ll figure something out going forward. BLH will have live coverage.
HBO, 10:15 pm ET, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs Roman Gonzalez, Naoya Inoue vs Antonio Nieves, Carlos Cuadras vs Juan Francisco Estrada. The “Superfly” triple-header is a welcome change of pace from HBO, and a nice glimmer of hope that in a time when their budget isn’t what it used to be and they’ve lost a lot of major promotional ties, they might get a bit more creative. All three fights are in the 115-pound division, two for world titles and the third an eliminator, with the Cuardas-Estrada winner in line to face the Srisaket-Gonzalez II winner. BLH will have live coverage.
CBS Sports Network, 11:30 pm ET, Elio Rojas vs Bryant Cruz.
